Dr. Jagid specializes in the areas of Functional Neurosurgery, Epilepsy, Traumatic Brain injury, and Radiosurgery. He is the Neurosurgical director of the Deep Brain Stimulation program at the University of Miami. Dr. Jagid obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical engineering at the University of Rochester. At Columbia University, he completed his pre-medical education and went on to complete his medical training at New York Medical College. Dr. Jagid completed his training in Neurosurgery at the University of Miami in 2001 and joined the faculty. Over the last 13 years, he has developed a practice focusing on deep brain stimulation for movement disorders and psychiatric disorders. Additionally, he visited Yale University for epilepsy and currently performs cranial procedures and stereotactic laser ablation for treatment resistant epilepsy. Dr. Jagid provides care for traumatic brain injury at the Ryder trauma center and is actively involved in research using hypothermia as a neuroprotection. Other areas of focus include pain, trigeminal neuralgia, spasticity and radiosurgery. Dr. Jagid is also actively involved in research trials for deep brain stimulation and brain machine interfaces for spinal cord injury and is an active member of the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis.
