Biography
Dr. Ivan Chaitowitz is a Vascular Interventional Radiologist at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in the department of Interventional Radiology.
He received his first medical degree in South Africa in 1984. He also completed a Diagnostic Radiology Residency at the same institution in 1997. Since then, he has obtained board certifications in Radiology and Interventional Radiology on multiple continents. In 1998, Dr Chaitowitz was recruited and worked as the Director of Interventional Radiology at a university teaching hospital in Melbourne Australia. In 2008, he joined the radiology department at the University of Miami.
His interests include Vascular Interventional Radiology and minimally invasive spine interventional radiology. In spine interventional radiology, he is one of the leading experts often times sought out directly by local, domestic, and international patients. Dr. Chaitowitz is a member of the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR), the Interventional Society of Australasia, Inc. (IRSA), and the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (CIRSE). He also holds a secondary appointment in Neurological Surgery.
