Dr. Fabian Vargas is an Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiologist. He received his medical degree from the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and completed his internal medicine residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital at Weill Cornell. He subsequently trained at New York Presbyterian Hospital at Columbia University where he completed fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease and Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology.

His clinical and research interest focus on healthcare disparities in outcomes of heart transplantation and patient selection for advanced therapies. Additionally, he is interested in remote patient monitoring and leading initiatives aimed at reducing heart failure readmissions and improving patient outcomes which he will focus on as the Associate Director of Heart Failure Transitions of Care.

Dr. Vargas is passionate about medical education, clinical research, and mentorship. Clinically, his approach to heart failure care is rooted in listening to patients first- understanding each patients goals of care and empowering them to make informed decisions about their health.
