Biography

Beteal Ashinne, MD, MPH, is a non-invasive cardiologist at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and has a clinical focus in coronary artery disease, lipidology, preventive cardiology, echocardiography and nuclear cardiology.  

Dr. Ashinne completed her general cardiology fellowship at the University of Washington and her internal medicine residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. Her educational foundation includes bachelor's and medical degrees from Duke University, complemented by a master's degree in Public Health from Emory University. 

Originally from Ethiopia, Dr. Ashinne is passionate about addressing health disparities in cardiovascular disease, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. Underscoring her dedication to mentoring the next generation of cardiovascular professionals and advancing excellence within her field, she previously served as a Section Editor for Heart/British Medical Journal and as the Fellows-in-Training (FIT) Chair on the Washington chapter of the American College of Cardiology (ACC) Board of Directors.
