Ashley Huergo, APRN, is a nurse practitioner in the Breast Surgical Oncology Department at the University of Miami. She began her career in women’s health at the Miami‑Dade County Health Department, where she spent nearly eight years caring for low‑income and underserved women. Her commitment to improving access to high‑quality care inspired her transition into advanced practice nursing.

Ashley previously worked in Breast Medical Oncology, where she managed patients with high‑risk breast conditions as well as those already diagnosed with breast cancer. This experience provided her with a strong foundation in breast disease management across the continuum of care. She now brings that expertise to Breast Surgical Oncology, ensuring patients receive comprehensive, coordinated evaluation and guidance.

She specializes in benign and high‑risk breast conditions, offering thorough assessment for patients with abnormal breast imaging or breast symptoms, including palpable masses, pain, skin changes, nipple discharge, and nipple retraction. Ashley is dedicated to delivering evidence‑based, patient‑centered care with a focus on education, early detection, and empowering patients throughout their breast health journey.
