Biography
Aditya Bharadwaj, MD is a nationally recognized interventional cardiologist with expertise in treatment of complex coronary artery disease including performing high-risk percutaneous coronary interventions on calcified lesions, bifurcation lesions, left main disease, chronic total occlusions (CTO) and patients with multivessel disease who are not candidates for open heart bypass surgery. He also is a key opinion leader in the field of cardiogenic shock and has been instrumental in helping centers around the United States and Asia Pacific to set up systems of care for the treatment of these patients.
After having graduated from Bangalore Medical College in India, he went on to do internal medicine at Detroit Medical Center, cardiology fellowship at Loma Linda University and interventional cardiology training at Mount Sinai Hospital, New York from where he graduated as ‘Fellow of the Year’. He subsequently was on faculty at Loma Linda University, CA where he helped build the high risk interventional and cardiogenic shock programs.
Dr. Bharadwaj is actively involved in clinical research including taking on national leadership roles and being a high enrolling investigator in pivotal interventional trials such as National Cardiogenic Shock Initiative, PROTECT 4 and ECP Trials. He was the first on the western half of the United States to implant the 9 French Impella ECP as part of the FDA Pivotal Trial. He has to his credit over 80 peer reviewed publications including high-impact publications in Journal of American College of Cardiology, European Heart Journal and Circulation Interventions.
Dr. Bharadwaj is an invited faculty at all major cardiology meetings, and he is involved with professional societies with being on various committees and task forces with the American College of Cardiology, Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. He was selected to be part of the prestigious ACC Emerging Faculty Leadership Program and the ACC Accelerator Leadership Program. He has been the recipient of several awards including SCAI 30 in their 30s, Future Leader award by ACC California Chapter and CRT Young Leader.
